Maroon clown disaster

Anyone know why a clown fish would keep fanning the sand with his tail, nonstop my tank looks like a bomb hit the sand and left craters , I tried to catch him, but he just hides, if someone can catch him they can have him free

I used to have one and he would do the same thing. As long as I left the divots where he dug them, he seemed to be ok. Once I flattened out the bottom he would attack it again, and I had crushed coral not sand.
He's still doing it for the guy I sold my tank to.

Just put in a little volkswagen, the clown will just cram himself in. Needs to be brightly colored though! J/K...

I had one that would do that constantly, problem UNFORTUNATELY took care of itself, though. All my rockwork came sliding forward, pinned him to the glass and killed him. Broke my heart.
