My icecap 660 went caputttttt

so now I got to find a replacement. If it's not one thing, it's another ...sighhhhh ... can't even send it to Icecap because they went out of business

Coralvue is picking up Icecaps warranty work, I think they are buying the name out and will fix your ballast for a fee.

Yah it really stinks that icecap went down. What would be a comparable unit now that there gone?

No Chris, the T5 ballast is HO, the 660 is VHO ... btw are you going to the swap? their is only one space left in the van

Sounds good Tom. Is there a good ballast to take the place of the Icecap 660?

I opened up my ballast last night and notice the fuse holder has melted so I went to HSC electronics and found the replacement fuse holder and a new fuse. My ballast is working again ....

Coralvue bought out icecap so they are selling it under their name.

Nice job with the repair Tom. Keep in mind that there may be a reason why the fuse holder melted in the first place, and replacing the holder may not have corrected that condition. Just keep an eye on it...

HSC might be a good addition to our local reefing resources thread.

Ken, Yeah I know, if it gets melted again then I think I'll replace the two large capacitors. Everything else on that board looks ok. But all in all the circuit doesn't look that complicated.
