live rock vs dry rock in sum?

should i go and spend the big bucks on adding more live rock to my sump or just get the dry stuff and let it become colonized naturally. ive already got 80 lbs in the display and 1 med piece in my sump. ive got a 75 gal mixed reef with a 20 gal sump.
