Quiet is very subjective. That being said, I do not hear mine running. I sit about 10 foot from where the pump is located.

I have had no problems with mine at all. I have not heard of break down problems with the water blasters.

i recently placed one of these bad boys in and so far so good. although i only had it for 3 weeks.

is it a pressure pump ? did you install it submerged ?
