Reef Octopus OTP 1000 pin wheel really sucking air.
I just replaced my Reef Octopus EXT-120's OTP 1000 needle wheel with the pin wheel pump. This thing really sucks the air compared to the needle wheel. Can't wait until it breaks in and starts skimming. BTW, I have a air valve on the venturi. I did not change the setting between the pump change. Now the only setting on the valve that is quiet is wide open.

AllSPS40, you may want to get the new pump. Here is a couple days worth of skimmate. I'm not feeding this tank. And all I have is a CUC and a couple of One monti plate show piece, 2 frags and 1 Acro frag. I'm surprised it pulled this much out in a few days. I was originally getting that kind of production with that bio load + 5 good size fish.

It's not the bubble blaster pump. It's the OTP-1000 with the pinwheel.
