high ph

Anybody see anything wrong with running my tank ph at 8.5-8.6? It currently gets this high during the day then about 8.1 during the night.

I currently have a calcium reactor along with Kalk in my top off. So i know that explains why its so high but was just wondering if any bad can come of this high ph.

thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it, although that's a bit high. More aeration might help. If the pH starts rising above 8.6 the tank might start having problems. There's a lot of factors involved, so it's hard to say exactly when the situation will go downhill.

Nate, unless you're observing something negative in your reef, I wouldn't be too concerned either.

If you had a lot more people living at your house, I'm sure the pH would be lower.
