Hmm...that hanging system doesn't look too bad. The only system I have seen where I liked them mounted on the tank using the tank mounting system was Wtony77's pic of his tank a page back. It looks fine one his tank (maybe because his tank looks so nice as well as he doesn't have the lights crammed in there. Some people have crammed so many lights on the mounting rod that it just looks messy, IMHO. It looks like he also has them mounted higher over the tank which might help aesthetically.

So what types of controls do these lights have? What level of controlability? Not even sure that is a word And how many lights would be required over a tank with dimensions of 22.5"x19.7"x19.1"? I would think of depth of a bit less 20" would be fine. I'm mostly worried about the length of the aquarium at 22.5". Would one unit be fine to cover the span or would I need to buy two units? Thanks!

Anyone know if it would take one or two of these fixtures for a tank with dimenstions of 22.5"x19.7"x19.1"? Thx

I think one would be great for that size tank. You can change around the optics to see if you can better coverage. The 100 degree give the best spread and PAR balance in my opinion.

So, dumb question regarding that hanging pendant configuration. First, any reason why I can't do a 4 light pendant using more sections of the rail? I currently have a 4xHQI fixture that is 72" long and much heavier than the 4xMazarra I bought suspended from 2 wires...why not this?

Second...specifically to Jeremy or anyone who has this set up as a pendant...the end pieces that go perpendicular to the long rail...how did you get them not to slide around? The instructions are extremely vague about rail assembly. I thought I could use these thumb screws that came in the module package, but the module requires both of them for the ball joint attachment. I don't get it but maybe it's probably obvious...

The hanging kit should have came with a set of metal set screws to secure the location of the mounting plate. I did swap my metal ones out with easier to use plastic thumb screws I had laying around that came with the modules. You can extend the center rail without any issues as long as the surface you are mounting it to is secure.

Thanks for the info. I will double check on those screws. I initially used the plastic ones you described, but realized later I needed them for the light mount.

OK, got the lights up, I hung them as a single 4 module pendant. I think I need to get one more module, to be honest. I think 5 would be perfect for my tank dimensions. Hopefully the rail system will be OK with a 5 module hanging rail...it seems sturdy enough. Too bad I have to get another power supply to do that, lol.

I absolutely love the gradual ramp up/down of intensity. I'm currently just using the pre-programmed "preset" mode. It's not doing the sunrise at one end thing, but to be honest I like the effect as-is, at least for now.

I'm curious how much customization people have done to the channel intensity when everything is running "full." Are you all just leaving it at 100% across the board, or have you found a different ratio to be optimal for coral colors, etc?

I've got mine running full 100% for all channels for six hours a day right now. When I get up to my full intensity I alway run all channels at 100%. No specific reason other than maybe I'm too lazy to really check out what it might look like otherwise and I like how it looks as is

I run also my system at 100% for 6 hours a day and I have 10 modules. My acros are loving these LED. I am glad I made the change from MH to the LED. you can see my pictures in page 19.

Your tank looks great, but holy crap...ten modules on a 155? Surely that's overkill? What optics do you have on there?

All of the optics are the 70. I started with 6 but I had a lot of dark spots due to the amount of rock and corals that I have. Also the aquarium is wide and deep. I added 2 more about 2 weeks after the initial set of 6 and then added the last 2 about a month after. Still my energy consuption is 600W, way below the 1200 that I had with the previous MH/compact combo that I have. The chiller also turn on a lot less.

I know that 10 modules cound be kind of an overkill, but I added them progressively and that was what I saw that looked the best. The PAR readings are good and I have not lost any corals with the change.

I ended up breaking down my entire system and restarting my build a month ago. With the issues with the power supply for the P-Series, I disconnected my lights and used a T5 fixture for my coral holding tank. I sent back a faulty module and it returned a week later with an additional fan, a new power supply and one of the newer ball joints. One of the fans on my unit would spin and make this horrible screeching noise that terrified my puppy and me.

I disconnected, cleaned and replumbed the entire setup. I had to paint the back of the tank as well since I didn’t do it when I set the tank up initially. I finally setup my tank and lights back up last night and switched out the power brick. I also picked up an Elos Mini so I ordered another Module and power supply from MD for that tank. With my new aquascaping two modules above my 36" tank didn't seem like enough, so I setup the third module to see how it looks and I like it MUCH better. Looks like I will need to figure out a lighting scheme for my Elos.

My SPS are doing great under the lights at 75% power and there has been noticeable encrusting. The colors have been coming in for some most of them and I am really happy with the performance of my LEDs.

I’m also really happy with the customer service that I have received from Chris and CoralVue. Initially, it was a bit bumpy but Chris has taken very good care of me.

I may end up going with another Mazzara Module for my Elos and I am hoping that the controller’s signal will be able to reach my other tank in my bedroom. Does anyone know how far the signal reaches?

The USB port on the controller is for firmware updates.

Need some feedback. Been using this modules for over half a year .I am still ok with the lighting but just want to get any feedback from reefers who adjust their light settings. Have seen other images from other sites that their tank havr more virbrant purple and 20k range kind Colour. I refer to the manual, my led configuration is different from the manual. Manual states has 6 whites only. Have more royal blue, blue and Actinic. I check mine and i have 8whites( 4 cool and 4 warm) , 3 blue and 3 royal blue.

Is there any firmware avaliable yet, i would like these lights to do the lightning affect like their compeditors,the only reason i bought these over the radions is because I like the colors a little more but I think the radions are a little more user friendly and flexible when it comes to programming. I would like to see firmware that would give us more option for the mazzara p.

^^^^. I want to bring this thread back from the dead. Is there a firmware update on these lights? I too would like to see more added bells and whistles like thunderstorms etc just for wow factor. How do you check if you have the most current firmware anyways?

I currently don't turn on all my channels on at full blast as I don't like 12k-ish look when all channels are on at 100%. Has anyone played around with the bulb color configurations? I was thinking about changing out 2 of the cool whites for the Uv bulbs. What do you think about this?

Currently I have this setting and I really like the color a lot.
A=24% B=100%
C=100% D=100%

With A on at higher than 40% it's just too white for my taste. I like the blue look so wanted to change out 2 of the cool whites for another bulb. What do you think?

I just wanted to give an update on my experience with the Maxspect Mazarra P LED. I am very happy with this LED lights. Some minor problems with the Channel "D" going out in some modules, others with the flickering, but very happy with the overall outcome. Coral Vue has been very diligent at fixing the module problems up to now.

Thanks for sharing. How have your sps colors fared with these lights? I myself just started adding sps to my tank and just a hot worried they won't color up so well with these

My SPS have holding very good with these LED lights. In the past I have had Blue Tortuosas that would die in 1-2 months under the Coralife 250W MH. I have now 10 months of a set of 3 blue tortuosas that have been doing great.

I've had the same experience in the year I've had my four modules, D went out in one one module, I get a flicker in weather mode, and I have one module that goes from 0 to 100% at times, but coralvue has been great with support. Hoping to get my issues resolved in the next month.
