Swabbie for MRC MR-2R skimmer?
Do you make a swabbie compatible with the MRC MR-2R skimmer? The lid size is 8.5".

Hi Karlin,
I looked up the specs on this skimmer. Since it has a sealed lid, we would need to retrofit the existing lid (or a second lid from MRC). Our standard lid-replacement Swabbie wouldn't attach properly to their collection cup. Re: your email question concerning the dual riser tubes, yes you could use an XL shaft with dual wiper blades: http://www.avastmarine.com/ssc/do/pr...abbie-Wiper-XL Set one to reach the smaller section, and the other to reach the wider section. The specs mention a 4.5" upper riser, and 6" lower. If this is the case, you'll need a small upper blade and a large lower blade, which is not a problem. When you get a chance, measure the length of the upper riser (starting from the lid) so I can make sure the XL shaft will be long enough to reach the bottom section. You may need to drill a few extra holes in the XL shaft in order to vertically align the wiper blades. Hope this answers your questions- sorry it took so long to get back to you. Justin |
