just to jump in also when will the MR10 be back in stock? looking to get one for pellets.

I will admit though after running my 2 MR5 reactors for a lil bit they are worth the wait you get nice even flow through them unlike my other reactors that always seemed to only get flow through one side.

Sorry about that guys. The MR5 kits are popular; we made what we thought would last us through our production shop move (going on now) and sold out of them 2 weeks ago. So much for inventory planning. MR10s I will check on, I was surprised to see that sku at zero. I will double check that they are actually all gone.

Will the 18" versions work for either of you? We have some of each of them; they are the ones have have sold out first in the past.

To answer the question though, both probably won't be back for a few weeks at least.

We're also working on a new website upgrade that will automatically email (or text) you when something comes back in stock so you won't miss it in the future. Hope that helps you.

Justin

thanks for the quick update, the 18" will work in my situation so I should be good to go.

good luck with the shop move, hope it goes smooth for you.

Sam

I was considering 18's initially. I think my planed ehiem 1250 pump won't be enough for 2 18's though. I had planed to run both of the 15's with one Ehiem 1250. I would appreciate an update when available. Thanks for the reply Justin. I love my swabbie so I am definitely in line for the Mr5's.

the same size pump you would need for the regular MR5 will be the same as the 18" version. the 18" version will just hold more media. and depending on how much media your gonna use the 1250 will work on the 18" one.

I run a mj1200 on each of my reactors with about 1.5 cups of media and I have the ball valve turned about half way down and get a nice flow through the reactor. I will be switching to a mag 7 just to run all 3 reactors and feed my skimmer though.

HTH

BTW just placed another order for the MR10 18" and bio pellets

Yes, Sam is correct. Thank you

The pump size is based more on the cross sectional area (diameter) of the reactor and less on the height. Although the 18" full of media will create a little more backpressure on the pump compared to the same diameter but shorter reactor. Probably not enough in most cases to warrant a bigger pump though.

This is what I had in mind for my dual Mr5's .

What do you think? It's a 1250.
