Can you ID this skimmer?
It has a sticker on the collection cup.
Ultra Life Reef Products Turbo Tower Venturri Protein Skimmer It's a HOB model, currently in my DIY rubbermaid sump im my stand. I'm currently using it, works OK I think. I got it with a bunch of equipment off Craigslist. The 125 tank, has a build sticker under the top trim facing the inside with the year 2005 on it. I'm assuming most of the stuff was from around then. Any help would be apprecaited. Last edited by Todd_Sails; 07/05/2011 at 10:40 PM. |

I stated in the title 'I.D.'
I rthink the sticker tells me what it is. Searchs found nothing. What I really meant was, anyone familiar with this skimmer? Surely someone has to have seen it somewhere, I've got one, inherited in a Craigslist buy, with tank, stand, wet/dry sump, several HOB filters, etc. |

Looks like an imitation/ copy of the remoras and urchins from AquaQ.
Suprised you are not getting any info from the manufacture.

Of course looking back, I see they have had this forum since 2009 and have never posted here.
![]() Heck, even when you click on the sponser link, they are not listed. Perhaps this forum should not even exist?

Thanks Jeremy, I saw that website, or lack therof also.
I've ordered a new, Ebay sc150. It has a thread and pretty good reviews- for a 100 dollar skimmer. It should be here tomorrow. My HOB model is actually a nice skimmer, and has pulled some nice skimmate, however I think it's too small for my 125, etc. I may try and sell i on CL or Ebay soon, it might be great for an up to 55 gallon tank. |
