I just had a 24x24x24in aquarium built, and I plan on it being sps dominated, with shaded area's having rics / shrooms. I already have a 15k A150w over my 4g pico, and it's doing great. Coral coloration has improved in all except for my orange monti, but thats due to my highly fluctuating water para's, given the pico only actually hs about 2g of water in it with the amoint of rock / sand i have in there. My question is would adding another A150w, 10k version, be enough for an sps dominated tank? Including say, a few lps like plate coral on the sand bed.

Nice, I've been using mine for 3 months and my experience is that LPS and soft corals do great. I put some montis under the light but they browned, I have to say they are at the bottom of my solana.
I believe this could be considered a medium light (a little less than a 150w MH), so SPS should be placed closer to the surface. |

I have had a birdsnest under the light for a month or two without losing color. I also have a spongodes in the tank that has been there for 3 months and looks fine in terms of color. It's sandwiched between shrooms and lps so the stinging it gets doesn't allow it to grow further.
Growth has been limited for SPS but I only do a water change once a month in that tank and don't supplement anything so I wouldn't expect a ton of growth for SPS. I don't expect the calcium/alk levels to be great with this much LPS in a small tank so I can't accurately rate the light for SPS.

Have had mine for almost 9 months. I think im starting to dislike them more every dy. You really need two of these units for sps. If your acros are not directly centered underneath it your light, they color up funky and uneven. I just feel like all of my corals are reaching for more light, even the softies.

Would 3 Kessil's in a 75 gallon tank - 24 inches long work?
2 Kessil's at 10K 1 Kessil at 20K Tank has a canope (hinged) How would you advise me on placement under the canope? I sure appreciate your help! |

I have 2 on my 75g and the coral are responding nicely. I could add more, but at this point it is not needed

As for my setup. I've been using my ocean blue pendant now for a good 5 months. I have shifted the pendant from my 4g pico to my 60g cube. Coral coloration and growth in my softies like my ricordia yuma's, and florida's has only intensified. The yuma's are growing / multiplying like crazy, however for some reason the florida's havn't multiplied. My stonies arn't showing good growth, but that is not the lights fault, it's more about my parameters while have been unstale in the 4g pico filled with only 2g of water ![]() The one pendant is definitly not enough to light a 24in cube, the light very bright around 4 inches from the surface, and 10 inches deep, however any deeper and it looks extremely dim. I'm either thinking of waiting on the a350 to come out in Kuwait for how deep my tank is and possibly get an additional a150 sky blue for good aesthetic coverage. |

Just added 4 kessils to my 40 breeder, 2 15k ocean blues and 2 20k deep ocean blues. The color and shimmer are amazing. I will try to post some pictures later today.

I have been running 2 kessil a150's ocean blues on my 75 gallon for about a month now. So far I am happy with them. I dont know if they will grow SPS, but I am trying this out. I placed the SPS way up on top.
Here are a few pics down low on my tank. |

If anyone is interested in selling a Kessil I am looking to buy. I think I would prefer a 10k as I like the blue but most people say the 15k is too blue.
