Just some of my tank photos

Hello from newbie on your forum!

Well, previously I was a "hidden guest" on your forum and I found a plenty of absolutely useful info.

I'm actually not newbie in aquariums... so, I don't know exactly, in which section I can place my topic - an I decided to put it here.

I just want to say "Thanks!" to your great forum. And give you some tiny present from me - a pictures of my tank. Hope you'll like it, and again - good luck, guys!

(Sorry for my "grammar", English is not my native language)
From left to right:
  • some of ny Xenias
  • my Psammacora Coral
  • some of my Zoos
  • my Birds Nest Cora

Thank you, guys!

Well, I spent a lot of endless hours near my tank for the first time, to be sure it completely established.

And my main rule was always... no to WC. Only in case if I see my pets showing any irritation, a "gut feeling" so to speak. And probably some monthly "refreshments" with NSW, but not exceeding the 1-2% of total volume.

And, certainly, I can tell more about my equipment. At least, many things I've learned from this forum, so...

Update: more pics!

Some more pics...

Progress in my blue Millepora maintenance...
Actually, one day tissue necrosis was started. And I decided to do everything possible: I simply broke off the healthiest piece of the colony, and fixed it to a separate plug.

Guess what? After prolonged course of a "therapy" both pieces survived

To be honest with you, very hardy creature, much hardier than my yellow polyps and softies... yeah, I know that sounds kinda strange, but that's true.

You probably will not believe me, but I bought this small thing from Aquatic Connection...
(first picture)

More. (second picture). My Xenia "forest"
Growing like crazy, but I really like it... so peaceful coral and pulsing is really captivating. Actually I'm trying to collect almost every known type of Xenia, and I probably know, why the "melting" phenomenon happens - at least, based on my tank research - in general, some types are extrmely hardy and pulsing like crazy, but some - really nightmare... finicky and touchy. If you're interested, please let me know - we may talk about Xenia "melting"

Next picture - some of my Zoas. Actually, a part of a "Zoanthid Valley"

Then... "Birds Nest". How it was and how it looks now.

And the last for today - Psammacora. Again, how it was and how it IS.

That's it for now. Well, how do you like it?

This is just a small part of my "Aquatic Dreamland". If you want more, let me know.

Huh, by the way about my equipment... it is very complicated and mostly DIY. I think, it needs several topics to describe.

At least, according to API test kits I have 0 nitrates and 0 phosphates. It is very pleasant to see a nice yellow color in my test tube

And - no water changes at all :P even no 5%... just top-offs with spring water.

So, do you want to know more about my equipment?

Thank you! I put a lot of myself in them, tried to make them as healthy as possible... vitamins, proteins, food variety... I know they are hardy, but I tried to make a champions from them...

Yes, I have a pair. Not really sure who is boy, and who is girl, to be honest with you... they are in my tank since "early childhood", so to speak. Yes, yes, you're completely right - they were so funny that days - just a big pair of eyes, and a tiny body with an almost "fluorescent" stripe.

Baby Engineers (also Convicts, if I'm not mistaken) also reminded me my tiny freshwater "neons" which I had a long ago. And those "neons" appeared to be extremely finicky to me.

To be honest, saltwater aquarium maintenance seems to me way more easier than freshwater and all critters are much hardier, than freshwater. Especially snails and plants.

And some more pics...

1. My little bastards... ops, sorry, Yellow Polyps. Yes, I bet you know what I mean they may shrink, shrivel, "melt"... and do all other "nice things" to make you angry

Ok, the picture is... "before" and "after" as well.

2. Some more critters together...
- my Engineer again,
- feather duster
- and my... "Chemical Destroyer" or "Chemical Weapon"
I think it's a Kenya Tree (or something of that kind, it came as a tiny "hitchhiker"). Now it's growing pretty fast...
