Do you want to have floats connected to the AC3 or are they part of the ATO? If you want to have floats connected to the AC3 then the easiest method would be to purchase a break-out-box and a float; connect the float to the break-out-box, the break-out-box to the AC3 and the pump to your DC8 (ideally ports 4 or 8). A little bit of programming and you are on your way.

I have a JBJ ato....would it be easier to get the breakout box or just use the JBJ by itself?

Controllers are all new to me...never owned one.

If you are happy with your existing top-off; keep using it but if you really want to have everything done by the controller (and there is no reason you have to) then sell the JBJ and buy the parts to have the controller be the ATO.
