smurfys aquarium build

welcome to my new build. i am 21 and i live in manchester england. i have been in the reef industry for a year now. this is my second build. my first tank was a 180 litre bow front. i bumped into alot of problems due to my lack of experiance and equiptment. 1 of my clowns jumped out of tank and died then all hell broke loose. his brother went mental and the fish wasnt the same after that. in the end my heater malfunctioned and over heated the tank to 34 degrees and cooked my fish. so i ate them joke. its time to start again. for months i have been colecting all the best equiptment. hard work has gne into this new build so i hope u appreciate what im doing. feel free to comment and advise me through out my build. as critism will be apreciated. my excuse is that im young and im only gettin older haha (drake) also ill aprreciate any pretty ladies out there following my htread. i will remain anonomous until i put my first pair of clowns in tank then i will post a picture of me smiling haha

to match my optimum skimmer water level hight i replaced the centre baffle with the white egg crate. i replaced it with acrylic at 12 inches tall. this sets the water level of the inlet area where the bio balls are, the skimmer section and the refugim.

as u can see on the picture tank is not plummed in yet. and centre collumn hasnt been finished with acrylic yet. this is so plummer can see when he plums it all in for me haha. i like the way the tank hood has vents in it aswell. also the tank itself has slidin cover to prevent splash hitting lights. tank and cabinet was 480, the sump was 80, the cabinet mod and wheel mod was 20 for wheels and 90 for u braces and wheel frame.

profilux in my view shouldnt be more than 300. a mean its only a small light box with a few micro chips and so on. it reminds me of a old gameboy with the squares display. theres far more complicated technology for half the price. i could of bought a 3d tv for that haha. but no regrets i will get maximum use out of it. the aqua illuminations was worth it. cant wait to grow some corals.

to do list:
buy tank heater for sump. to be controlled by profilux. ( can any1 reccomend the best 1) also if i heat water in the sump will the tank temp be ok? or will it cool. iv wondered this for a while.?
buy return pump
i have vertex ro unit. i will have to hook it up and i dont have a clue how so im not looking forward to that ( once i have this i can fill tank)
position vortechs in tank
plumb tank
buy refugium light>>any recomends?
buy 3 pumps 1 for drain 1 for ato and 1 for refill sw. resovoirs 12 feet away so need to take water from them to sump.>> any recommends?

Very nice tank, and interesting modifications to the stand!

Do you plan to keep the bioballs in the sump? Also, is that the nano AI LED fixture, or one of the regular-size? I have a couple of the PAR38 LED fixtures over my refugium, and quickly learned they have the capability of frying corals.

I might put some chaeto under my PAR38s. It will be interesting to see how it grows.

The ceramic media might be pointless if you have enough live rock.
