Here is a fast photo update on the tank, things are beginning to get back to normal after adding the new light. My GBTA and my Duncan coral have both come out of hiding and are reaching out for light. I raised the light up one more inch after reading about some other tanks that are using the same light but are deeper than mine, it seems to have made a difference.

My new Mexican Turbo Snail.

Trumpet Coral

Frogspawn

Left Side - Blue + lights

Right Side - Blue + Lights

Duncan Coral - If you look closely you can see the new head forming.

They are very blue. ATI Blue +

I used to run one blue + and one purple + I may go back to that combo. It looks better in person than it does from the camera.

Just read the entire build thread and it was excellent, great work!

You mentioned you are looking for an ATO container, I know that Elite Aquatics makes acrylic acclimation boxes, sumps and ATO containers and I heard the quality is great.

I can never get my camera to get a good approximation of what my tank actually looks like, it always comes out different.

I noticed something odd with my Frogspawn coral a week ago and I have been watching it until I could get a really good look at it. It seems that the larger head is splitting, so my 2 head FS will soon be 3. I pretty surprised at the growth rate of LPS corals.

There should be a setting somewhere on your camera to "auto adjust the light" or something. That will pull all that blue out. Mess around with the "menu" option on your camera. Hopefully there is a "manual" shooting setting where you can configure everything.

Picked up my first SPS coral today, I now have one 2 inch well branched Orange Montipora Digitata.

I tried to get a picture but no luck, damn blue + bulbs and point and shoot camera's lol...

I'll try tomorrow when full lights are on.

So far so good, almost all the polyps are open and the color is really good.

Sweet corals! I like the way you mounted the acropora, and would like one of the orange digitata, myself. I wonder how a brain coral such as that would do on barebottom...

A lobo would be fine it can be on rock or on sand so bare bottom would do well, I had no idea they had a skeleton under them lol I have so much to learn...

The digitata is a bit hidden but that was planned, it will be really cool reaching up from behind that piece of rock once it grows out.

Thank you about the acro, I knew when I saw it in the LFS where it would fit best!!

Starry Blenny and Resplendent Anthias will be here tomorrow. QT is ready to go... I really hope I get lucky and have no diseases this time around.

Both new fish arrived alive and have been added to the QT, the blenny looks great very active even while he was in the bag, but the anthias never moved around in the bag and is laying on the bottom hiding in the QT I hope he makes it. Acclimation was easy I matched the salinity of the bagged fish so I only had to acclimate temp. PH was close enough to not be an issue. This acclimation technique works well I have yet to have a dead fish although these are my first fish I have ever had shipped.

well its been an hour and the anthias is in his tube hiding, he looks better but still pretty scared, the blenny pushed him off the bottom of the tank and the anthias responded by swimming around a little and then settling in the tube.. pretty interesting behavior from the blenny.

Things are looking good with the new fish in QT, the Anthias and the Blenny are both eating shrimp, I cannot get the Blenny to eat any herbivore food at all, but I will keep trying. I will post some pics tomorrow they both are pretty relaxed in the QT and pics should be easy.

I forgot I do have one pic of the anthias from this morning...
