HELP! Yellow Tang Parasite
All, I could use some help on this one. I have a yellow tang that I got from a guy who had it and a small hippo in a 14G BioCube. I convinced him that his tank was no good for those fish and I would be happy to take them, so he gave them to me. Now the problem. The hippo is perfectly healthy, but the yellow tang has something growing inside it. I noticed this when it was still in the other guys tank but thought it was something in his digestive tract. It started as a small black object near the lateral line maybe a half inch from the base of the tail. It has since grown on a daily basis and today I notice a really small pinhole on the other side of the fish. This growth is not on his skin but it is inside him. He still is eating and acting normal but looks a bit thin. I do have a 20 gallon that I could set up as a QT/hospital tank and dose the water but not sure even what to do. Please help! Thanks all.

Just a wild guess: internal bleeding, especially if its growing so fast. possibly some unknown internal parasite too. I've seen bleeding like this develop after weak/small fish got caught on a PH. If it happens to be a worm-type parasite, PraziPro might help---but I doubt it. I doubt any antibiotic will help either. YTs (especially thin ones) can show a lot of stuff on their insides that you'd never notice in other fish. BTW, I think there is more chance that the YT is thin because of his previous housing than whatever this is. Not much help, but YTs are tough fish.
