Newbie Feeding Acans?

Well I feed my acans about three times a week. I use a clean aptasia X syringe and fill it with mysis and cyclopeze. Targeting the Acans I disperse the food on the mouths. I quicky put one of my wife's tuperwares inverted over the colony, then wait until they engulf the food and get huge. After their feeding tentacles come back out (5 min) I remove the tuperware. There is no food left but, my cleaner shrimp and hermit crabs come over and dig at the acans. Is this ok, will it effect the acans? What does everybody else do?

I find myself over the tank for another twenty minutes manually removing the shrip and crabs from the top of the acans.

Three times a week is probably a little overkill, but I'm sure they don't mind!

Try spot feeding the shrimp and crab first... that should keep them busy for a while. If they're overly aggressive even after a feeding - not sure what to tell you. (That's why I don't have crabs anymore!)

i target feed my acans with LPS pellets. Easy and efficient and clean. My cleaner shrimp knows his place, he always stays away when i target feed my acans:-)

Thanks I never thought of that. I'll drop a piece of shrimp in when I feed.

try feeding at night..first feed the tank a lil so that the inhabitants get busy and then feed the acans.
