I got dry wall up on ceiling, Hung it by myself. I don't recommend that to anyone.
Everything for my led light is ordered. 80 royal blue 30 nw and 10 cw pluse 10 lunar. I got pots and power supply for dimmers. 1 amp fuses and resistors plus terminal strips and wire. I ordered 300 stainless screws and nylon washers . I'm going to drill and tap threads in aluminum for every led. That way I can change them out and mix colors in the future. Nylon washers will prevent any shorts from screws. In going to make a thread on led build.
I ran the water line for my auto top off as you can see in pic. This weekend ill finish dry wall and start tapeing and mudding.
The stand is next.

I got the wall in the middle of garage finished and the door installed tonight.
The tank should arrive on 24. I hope I have the stand built by than.
With all the led parts coming the only big things left are skimmer , 200 lbs of sand , rock and pump. I'm thinking I might have water in by end of April

I know it's too late at this point, but just for future reference, any time you have wood in contact with concrete it should be pressure treated. White wood will mold in a hurry, and eventually rot.

Having said that, good luck with the build out!

Dam I can't belive I overlooked that. I called tank guy and cancelled order. If I'm so stupid to place untreated wood on my environmententy controlled cement floor I have no business building a big tank. I guess ill stick to fresh water

Mmmm, wasn't trying to be insulting, sorry if I missed something or if it came across that way. The pics made it looks like white wood on the concrete. Environmentally controlled area or not, at least where I am any time you have wood in contact with concrete it has to be pt, (to meet building code) and I've just found it to be a good practice.

What makes the wood harder?? Just because it is harder, it wont rot?
My understanding is the chemicals that are forced into the wood retard rot due moister. And bugs wont eat it.
I have seen many many many fence posts made of PT rot. Given time all wood will rot.

Sorry I was a little drunk last night. And tired from a hard week of work.
I discussed this issue in great lenght. My house was built on a slab in 1964. All the sill would is regular pine. Concrete can on the ground especially in a basement be colder than the dew point temp and sweat causing wood to be wet and rot. Where I live I don't have that problem when the room is airconditioned. I was going to use treated wood but decided it would be a waste of money.
The wood is not harder. Pressure treated means they submerse in chemicals and pressurize it forcing the chemicals into the wood.

@thor. great build so far. tagging along

If you have not been to Premium Aquatics (south side Indy) you should check them out (they have open to the public hours on every Sat).

On your stand idea. 3/4 in plywood laminated in to "beams" will be WAY stronger AND WAY STRAIGHTER than any lumber you can find.

No sweat. I just didn't want there to be any misunderstanding of my intent. I was a contractor for a lot of years so I notice that sort of thing, it's just kind of automatic for me to point it out. You aren't that far from me so my guess is if this was being inspected they would probably make you use pt. But I agree, sometimes code can be a bit over the top, hopefully it won't be an issue for you. And yes, you're correct, being pressure treated doesn't make it harder. Well, except for being harder to find straight pieces.

Mudding the walls all day. I was bored waiting for it to dry so I started messing with leds.
I bought a piece of blue acrylic that I'm going to mount my terminal strips power supplies and distribution blocks on. I think I'm going to make a compartment inside stand with its own access door on side. It should look cool on the blue acrylic. I really want to start on stand but I have to wait for tank to arrive so that I know exactly where the holes are drilled for overflows.

Lucky day, my 240lbs of sand I ordered last week has not shipped. I was wondering what was up, maybe $7.99 shipping. I went back to email to check status. My heart sunk I ordered #0 which us .5 to 1.5 mm. Not the #2 1.5 to 2mm that I wanted. I have fine sand in current tank and it gets on Corals. I have to blow everthing of twice a week. I called them. The guy said they only had 11 bags in stock and were waiting for new shipment from vendor because they didn't want to ship parcel order. I wish I new who bought that last bag , I'd send him a $20. So order is cancelled. Now I'm thinking there might be a reason. Is 1.5 to 2.0 mm pure aragonite the right choice? I'm going to start a thread on this. I normally never redecide its kind of a rule I live by. I am a strong beliver in karma and think that everything happens for a reason. It could be the 1 bag prevented me from getting wrong stuff or I ordered wrong stuff because it was not the correct choice. Lol. Sorry for those that don't belive
