Help with decision for lighting

Hello,
I have had a Biocube 14 for about 2 months, love and hate it at the same time. I have a cleaner wrasse, a yellow clown goby, ORA Misbar Clown, and Emerald Crab. Everything is doing great, also I have some corals:
Candy SPS
Brain SPS
Gamethya? SPS

Anyway the lights on the Biocube are CRAP, I need new ones, I was looking at one on ebay that is a 120w led with a ratio of little bit over 1, and Ive been looking for maybe a halide, but I just don't know, and I don't wanna spend over 200$ so if you guys have andy suggestions that would be awesome.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Well for a smaller tank like that I would say metal halide would be an overkill. Instea you could do t5 or led. I would look into an led "spot" light such as the ones you can buy on marine depot

Ya I saw rapidled but what If I got 70w Halide? Cause halide is cheaper, and I don't want to solder Rapid Led or pay that much, also I don't care about the hood on the biocube, ill rip that POS off in a second.

have you looked on e-bay?

I have a 10W 10000K led over my sump and boy..... that thiong is BRIGHT!!
and it only cost me about 25 dollars I believe, you'll have to get a good heat sink tho, because they get hot

they have stronger leds too... up to 100 watts

maybe that's the way to go?

70w MH would be fine. Used one on my nano for years.

If you go MH route, keep your temp in check. 14 gals can heat up in no time.

If your woried about expense look into aquastyleonline.com. They are a lot cheaper than rapid. I was just starting a cheep led project when I found a thread talking about them. My custom light is now going on my fuge!! Lol. People are very happy with them. They have just about everything rapid has and it's affordable. A 70w halide will cost a good bit to run as well as heat your tank up big time. I like the LEDs beter in every aspect.

I have been looking at aquastyleonline.com how many and what color temp would work for such a deep tank.

Sinse its a smaller tank I would go with the leds for sure, cheaper, less energy and last longer. They make some nice stunners that would work great on that tank!

Sun bright slimline is a pretty nice light for cubes. Has 18-3w LEDs.

Looks like a bit much for a 14gal. I'm not to good with lighting. I'm still learning. I like the DIY stuff.

Still need an opinion on the eBay light or a specific light under 200?
