Nice tank! One question though... Why do you have a heater in the display tank? Hide that bad boy in the sump.

"Why do you have a heater in the display tank? Hide that bad boy in the sump."
I have one in the sump, in the area of my soon to be refrug(another project!lol) I was wondering, once I get my Refrug going, where is the best place to put the heaters? In the drain side or the return side?

"Nice! where'd you get the nems?"

A few years back , my green bta split and I gave the mommy to my friend. She returned the favor with the RBTAs. Hopefully they will split so I can give one away at a meeting.

A heater in the display isn't a bad idea. If something happens and water isn't being pumped from the sump then you don't get heat etc. Also water in the sump and water in the display can vary pretty widely between temps. Cooler water in the sump could cause a heater to kick on and warm up an already warm tank or vice versa. Sometimes a lot of equipment is held in sumps like pumps etc which can warm up the water and cause heaters to never turn on. I think redundancy is the key with any system. The do make covers that can go over heaters that blend in pretty well especially once things grow on them. These are all just things to consider. A heater or better yet two in the sump and one in the display is the way I would go. Undersize them so if they stay on they wont boil the tank and it takes longer to heat up the water so you have a better chance of catching it before it's too late.

Great looking tank. It will be awesome grown in!

In theory it's probably good to have heaters in both the display and sump. I just prefer the display to be as clean as possible. Do you see any heaters in any of the TOTMs? I haven't seen one.
