I want to get a clam..............

But I am not too sure about the lights I have for my tank would support it.
My tank is 72L x 24W x 30H and I'm running 12- T5 (35w) bulbs. 8 of which are 12,000k Sun wave and the others are actinics. I am thinking about getting the
Ecoxotic Par38 LED Aquarium Lamp - 12,000K - 2 Royal Blue and 3 White - 21W.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated on getting the right bulb. Can someone please advise me on what bulb to get? I would like to get a bulb that I can easily just screw into a fixture and still retain my current-USA hood.

Thanks............

don't think ecoxotic will do the job. they are 1 w leds. no penetration. i think the t5's would supply more light, if they are less than a year old

Yup, the 12 - t5's was recently changed within the space of 3 wks. The tank is close to 10 mths old. I do have some zoas and brain coral on my sand bed that are crowing very good. The only place I can place a clam right now is also on my sand bed because all my rocks at the moment either has zoas or some sort of leather in the good spots. Think I'll have to get a light meter to be sure then....
Thanks

Ecoxotics do fine. Anyone who says otherwise has no experience with them. I have the panorama modules over my tank. (not the newer panorama pros) and I am keeping a crocea about 8 inches down. I have had him for 6 months now and it is doing great.

I am not sure how the par38 wil do.. but if stunner strips can do it I am sure it would be fine.

Remember in my case, it's like 30" down so I need something that will work. What should my readings be for keeping a clam

I wouldn't put a clam 30 inches deep with my lights. I am not familiar with their par38 but I think it is safe to say that that is just too deep as well. The newer panorama pros hit 200-250 par at 24 inches.

Placing the clam higher up should be no problem at all. The sandbed is out of the question though.

A clam would be ok 30" down with 2 400w MH lights though, right?
