How to grow australian acans
So I am buying some australian acans and they have 3 head each. Just wanted to know if I should glue them to a small rock so they can grow over the rock and also should i leave them in my main tank or in my frag tank. Any help would be useful. I have other corals like the original mummy eyes, rare zoas and other chalices growing in my main tank but I am now trying out australian acans.
thanks Norm |

You can glue them to rocks or leave them on the sand bed, they dont seem to mind, I have them placed both ways in my tank and they are all doing good. If you want them to grow fast, feed them. I target feed mine 1x a week with either reef roids or frozen brine shrimp (yes, they eat brine shrimp) and they grow like crazy. I got a few in January that were all 3-5 heads, all are at least 7+ heads now and growing like crazy.

Feed them a piece of mysis once or twice a week. They will love it.

+1 on the mysis. they will eat brine, but mysis has better nutritional value.

All fine foods suggested but if you really want to see some incredible growth and PE, try the Fauna Marin LPS.
Best I have ever seen.

All these methods with get them to grow alot of fleshy polyps. You need to dose 2 part or Calcium Reactor to get these corals to grow Skeleton!! I added a Calcium reactor to my system, and with in 4 weeks I could see visible skeletal growth. Just my 2 cents.
