Brians 2.2g Pico!
Hi, This is a 2.2 gallon pico with the 50g aquaclear HOB filter, theo hydor mini, and solor flare mini led light with blue actinic led strip. I will be upgrading the lighting once the cycles over and im ready to add coral i just really wanted to get the tank cycled. The aquaclear will be modded into a refugium also when cycle is over. No plans for stocking yet.

Nice Pico!! You could add some zoanthids and paly's. Also look up penderson shrimp I think there better looking then the sexy shrimp imo. Also I would put the heater in the HOB and get a digital thermometer with a probe I just got one a my lfs for $10 and is more accurate and looks way better then those mercury types. You want to try to put the least amount of equipment inside the display especially if its a Pico. Also it looks like that sand bed is a little too deep for a Pico and is not needed so you could take more then half of the sand out and gain more water volume or more room for LR. Just my 2 cents. Make sure you post some pics of your progress. Happy reefing!!

Thanks for the advice i need to put some sand behind the rocks and even it out. But im going to take some sand out also, you make a good point.

Nice! I just set up the 10 inch cube. Do you plan on putting the heater in the media basket side? I have the same heater and filter actually and was planning on doing the same but it seems like it's going to be too tight of a fit.

Yes I'm putting my heater in the media side. I'll take pictures to show how I fit it. It will fit perfect. You have to mod it to fit.

So I started getting my algae bloom. Awesome. I took my ac50 and modded it today so now there's nothing in my tank besides sand, rock, and the intake tube now covered behind a rock. So it's clean. I also fragged some of my main tanks neon green star polyps and added them in and put my one ricordea in the pico also. I just need to get my new light then some cheato. I'll take pictures tomorrow.

Great looking tank, if you need help cooling it you can add a computer fan and heatsink to the filter. I have seen ones that are homemade and work just as well.
