"Super Male" is a term usually is a terminal male, the name is just to get people to buy it, IMO. Normal flame wrasse have less yellow and pink and the red isn't as deep. Some terminal males have lime green on the anal fin. Do you have any pictures?

I dont have any pics yet. I just introduced a pair sat and a few of my fish decided to give him an initiation beat down. It wasnt to bad but a few of his fins are split at the moment. The fish is swimming around with out being harrassed. He is also eating well. The red like you said isnt as deep, the belly is more white then yellow, and the head is yellow. When he does flash he does change into more vibrant colors. He does also have a blue rim on the edge of his tail. FRom what i read it just means hes maturing.
The female is more vibrant then the male. She has some nice pink and yellow to her. She seems to pick at him every so often. I hope she doesnt turn into a male. They were in the pet store for a few months and she was always second in the pecking order. Once he looks better Ill post some pics. |

Terminal males usually have blue outlining their unpaired fins.

Here's my Flame. You can see how he gets pink stripes when flashing. Don't worry about getting a "Super Male" as all the Flames are just darn good looking fish.
