Want to donate your old tank/stand?

Hi everyone. Well it looks like my first semester student teaching for science really paid off in the sense where I was offered a full time job to teach 7th grade life science at a local middle school here in the valley.

I was told by the administration that I can decorate the room however I wanted and can have a tank inside. The problem is...I am flat broke. I have been buying lots of materials for my lessons and overall for the classroom I really do not got much to offer. So...if any of you fine folks have an old tank/stand and you would like to donate for my room let me know. I am probably going to do a saltwater tank with some cheap corals and perhaps a snowflake eel.

I got a couple of tanks for the kids. I am kind of far tho. Irvine, CA 92614.
60g acrylic - 36x26x16
50g glass - 36x18x18
no stand no hoods just tanks. they are not flawless. used these as 'fuges. they both definitely need work. I dont know if they will be worth the work. Hopefully my post will trigger more people to donate their "junk" Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply Islandfever. I don't mind taking a drive out especially if someone is willing to help me out by donating. I don't care if they are messy since they don't need to be in mint condition. The kids wouldn't care and its not my main tank in the house . Lets see if someone has a tank and a stand first.

I have a 20g glass tank you can have. It just needs to be cleaned a bit. It's probably just a bit over a year old. 24'' x 12.5'' x 17''. I'm in 90034, still a bit far from you.

Let me know if there's interest. I have a 60 gallon corner overflow glass reef ready tank, and a 2 bulb MH light and ballast that can go with it.

Ah man this is great. I have always thought reefers are great folks and this here shows it . I am going to have to take measurements of the area where I am going to put the tank. The school has a lot of computers in each room so the tank will probably be next to my desk so I need to see how big of a tank I can get away with. I will get back to you guys by Monday for those who listed. Man you guys rock.
