Residual power after Timer goes off
Good Afternoon
I posted this question in the lighting forum, but thought I might go right to the source as well for some feedback. I wired up 3 Heatsinks worth of LED's from you guys. 12RB/12CW per heat sink. Instructions were followed to the letter, SVR2 was set at .85 mA When my timer (which only the lighting controller is plugged into) goes off, there is still slight illumination coming from most of the lights, why is this? Is there something I did wrong along the way? Also, in the first 10-15 minutes of sunrise, and the last 10-15 minutes of sunset, I seem to have fluctuating power issues, where only some of the LED's come on ... and almost pulse until the unit powers up further. Any reason why this would be taking place? Perhaps I'll shoot a video of what I mean as its tough to explain. |

The pulsing sounds like you have an issue with not enough voltage being drawn from the LEDs, the driver (assuming you're using a 48 series driver) requires at least 24V being drawn from it otherwise it will go into protection/hiccup mode which is the pulsing you're seeing. Usually with 12 LEDs that doesn't happen though, so try measuring the voltage (place one prong on the first contact between driver and LED and the other on the last contact at the other end of the string) when the string is blinking.
As for the residual light, we do see this happen and unfortunately the only way we know of to get rid of it is by shutting off the driver itself (just put the driver's power cord on the same timer as the controller). Hope that helps! |

No, the power is so low that it won't harm the LEDs.
