I agree, use clay pots to weigh down a crab trap and when u think you have enough "crabs I'n the trap". Pull up the trap & take the "weights" home and replace them with new ones.

Why not buy some Big Dry Rock pieces and use those as wieghts.

Unfortunately if you use Rock you run a chance of being caught removing rock from the gulf which is restricted. No one is going to bust you for removing flower pots.
