Peacock Mantis Setup

Hi everyone. Recently, my smithii passed away but I'm planning on renovating to make room for a peacock.

Dimensions: 36" x 12" x 16"

Light: Now here's my problem, my coralline has gotten pretty after months! D: I've been using T8's that are 15W. Would it be wise to keep the T8's? I'm fine with getting rid of them if I have to.

Other than that, I've got about 45 lbs of live rock for my future child to play with and im most likely buying 5lbs more. The sand bed is about 2 inches as well.

Do any of you have extra recommendations? Besides of course going full Kharn - i dont have the support of my family for that xD.

Why not save on money altogether and keep the current lights you have BUT DO NOT leave them on, ONLY turn them on when you want to look at the peacock/film it/show others NEVER do like a 12hr light cycle etc.

The choice is Coral or Peacock you can't have both in the same tank for a long period one will succumb to either to much light (shell rot) or to little light (corals).

When I got my large peacock The Juggernaut, he had significant shell rot on his telson but even though I haven't got a 110% confirmation pic of it since then (because he has molted and because he has had virtually no light on him since being under my ownership) his shell rot looks to of completely healed and I account it to the molt and having no light on his tank.

EDIT: Tank size wise those dimensions are the same as the size of the tank that my largest Peacock is in (the one above that is 100mm shorter but rest the same) so I don't see a problem with the size.

Do what's going on I lost mine today?! Sorry to hear about yours.

Your good on size. Like Kharn said just don't use the lights everyday and when you do use them keep it to short periods of time. I also think peacocks are sensitive to chemistry so keep an eye on that.
