wow.. its crazy that it is just his grow-out tank!

I do disagree with Tony's opinion about tank controllers. A reef controller is 1000 times more simple than any personal computer, and much less likely to fail. Also, if you leave your skimmer pump and your return pump off of the controller, the impact of a controller dying is minimal. And we all know the trick of setting the heater thermostat to just above where you normally keep the temp. Just encouraging you to give a controller some more thought, Tony!

I actually completely agree with him. Once you begin writing programs within the controller the software becomes vulnerable. I plan on getting a controller to monitor my tank but all essential equipment such as powerheads, return pump, and heaters will be separate.
