15 g tall Nano Advice

Hi all,

After a 10 year break I am coming back!

I use to have a 60 gal Hex mixed.. Loved that tank.

I'm starting out with a 15 gal tall, it's 13x13x20.

They are odd deminsions but its what I have to work with. Currently all I have is the tank. I plan on doing Shrooms with a few softies and 2-3 fish.

So, I am hoping I can get away with a hob skimmer a couple powerheads, live rock and a retro lighting kit and be G2g aside from all the other misc. of course.

I've started doing my own research of course but I was hoping for some opinions on what some of you more pro's would do with this tank. Given the odd size I am definetly limited and want to be sure I get it right the first time. Thanks!

B

Ok, so I want to go with Metal Halide lighting. Either 70 or 150 watts. I had a 250w MH over my old 60 gal and it was tough to keep cool.

Given my depth of tank and what I am interested in keeping should I go with the 70 or 150?

Any one have any exp with the Reef Brite Pendent 150 DE?

Instead of a couple of powerheads I would go with the vortech mp10. I have one on my 28g nano and it works great.

Thanks, I will Definetly consider that. I like the idea of keeping equipment inside the tank to a minimum.

I'm looking at the Tunze Nano Reefpack 200. Any one have any exp with this? I don't plan on using Bio media so does any one know if there is enough room in there for a heater. Doubt I will need it but just in case...
