Exclamation Bali firmware - final version

Hello

We are glad to inform - that the latest software/firmware update for Pacific Sun Hyperion R2 lamps(also Pandora Hyperion R2) is now available for download.

Before I will discuss the various tabs - please remember - make the firmware upgrade from the current firmware / software, and after successfully uploading to flash memory - just uninstall the "old" soft and install a new one.

Files necessary to update - firmware:
http://www.pacific-sun.eu/download/H...n_r2_v3_2h.bin
Software (PC - Win XP/7/8/Vista):
http://www.pacific-sun.eu/download/H...Bali_Final.rar

So after a successful update came time to discuss the application.

Settings tab

In addition to standard lamp time setting, we can also set the lamp power mode, Manual Override - that is where we need to immediately turn on the lamp (eg at night - something is going on in the aquarium).
Use the button on the back of the lamp - after pressing the lamp goes into safe mode and it will work in this way until the button is pressed again.
This will reset the lamp and return to the previous lighting scheme (in this case the moonlight).

GHL / Neptune / Apex control If the lamp uses an external control computer (Apex / Neptune / GHL when you select this option, LED panels will be controlled by an external signal(1-10, PWM) while in the case of Hyperion Pandora R2 T5 bulbs can still be accessed from application / internal lamp computer.

Acclimatization program
Specifically implemented acclimatization program - used to acclimate corals to LED lighting. Based on user-defined existing lighting computer automatically selects the initial power output and color of light from the lamp, and the interval, which is changed every day lamp power, allowing corals in a gradual get used to new sources of light (as amended by the spectrum of light) and to its intensity. The computer controls the power and change the color of light in the range from 15 to almost 90 days (range automatic - depending on the acclimation). This option eliminates the situation of "overexposure" aquarium and coral bleaching, which is a very common symptom in the transition from other type of lighting(t5/hqi) to LEDs . At the end of the acclimation program automatically switches off and the lamp goes to the mode previously set, such as Basic Mode or Par Table.

Daylight Settings tab

In this section we set parameters of the lamp in the Basic mode (simplified). We set start time of sunrise and sunset, and the lamp power during the day. If you configured program of acclimatization before we can start it on this page (the information will also appear on the LCD lamp) and run a simple simulation program (Seasons simulation), in which for each month of the year has the characteristics of the light change the color of light - the light looks different in the middle years(summer) - and otherwise - in the winter ..

Week-Tweak
Very often it happens that at the weekend we have the ability (and willingness) longer sit watching our aquarium .. However, it also often happens that in the late evening, when social life in our house is just beginning, the light in the aquarium "fades" and the only view we can enjoy the moonlight. To enable the "extension" - or "offset" the time of the lamp at the weekend for a few hours ahead - it was written-Tweak Week program. How does it work? Let's take an example: "standard" we have set the lamp on the east side at 10 am and the west (the start time of sunset) at 18:00. Time of sunrise / sunset set to 2 hours. So - at 20.00 ends in "day". If you want to watch the Saturday and Sunday, not expanded our aquarium of light - is set for those days Time Shift for example, (-3). This means that for a tube that, in those days, the time is "withdrawn" for 3 hours. So - if you've east began at 10 - so now the light "thinks" that it is 7 am and the actual east starts at 13:00 (real time) and sunset at 21:00 and runs until 23:00 ... Next so the "day" lasts the same - but "slightly" later it started .. Monday everything is back to "normal" - and we have the opportunity to enjoy a weekend in our aquarium simply "more" ... ;-)

Colour Settings tab

The latest firmware version has been refined to draw of the current system of dynamic spectrum of light emitted by the lamp. By making multiple measurements with a spectrometer, we managed to save the drawing algorithm is closest to the actual wave spectrum chart of light (accident) emitted by the lamp. In this way we know what a light emitting lamp - and gives us further opportunities to experiment - it's as if each had its own spectrometer. A setting powers of each channel can attempt to recreate such as the spectrum of light emitted by fluorescent T5 favorite sets. Or HQI + T5? You can also see how a change in the specified range of wavelengths, increases / color of corals in your tank.

PAR Table tab

Table PAR is quite powerful tool to create your own lighting programs: you have the ability to set independent power for each channel at different times of the day (and night). In addition, you can generate a graph showing changes in light intensity for each channel during the day. To set the color of light in a "live" - use "Colour Studio Live", by which we you able to "live" watch how it will look like a light in each time interval and modify them as needed and recognition. And then you can update the record in a table. This sounds quite complicated - but really - in fact within a few minutes you will be able to do this is automatically. Especially that the application itself fills the necessary fields in the table as the start time for the next "record" in the table, etc.
There is added also option for light spectrum preview for each row of PAR table.

Custom scenario tab

It is used for upload / grabbing lighting programs sent by the other users or shared at the library on-line scenarios.
At the moment there is program Hawaii, which is characterized by beautiful, natural-looking sunset and the changing light during the day (reflecting the passing of the day the clouds in the sky), etc.

BALI Natural Sun program
It's basically the essence of this firmware update. Last year we had the opportunity (and a pleasure) to be in Bali, near the town of Candidasa, where the main objective was to measure the physicochemical parameters of water and light around the coral farms, which are imported from our friendly suppliers. During our stay we made a series of measurements of light (spectrum and intensity) during the day, so we were able to sketch the curve of the spectrum and intensity changes of light - from sunrise until sunset. These measurements were performed both on the surface and under water. Thus lighting up a program called BALI Nautral Sun. With sewn in firmware procedures, as well as by the fact that the lamps Hyperion / Triton have at least eight independent LED channels we have a very large extent reflect these changes during the day. And thus, our lamp is lit in a "similar" to the sun around the the island of Bali.

Of course - should be emphasized that the graphs are compared to light (spectrum) measured by us (natural sunlight) and those reflected by the light emitted by the lamp. Through the technical limitations of the LED technology can not be 100% commitment to the natural conditions but I can proudly say that this has been over 90%! It is a unique solution so far adopted by the professional manufacturer of LED lamps.

Installation procedure is very simple: just one button "Start Bali Program" and can be uninstalled through the Unmount button.

Moonlight settings tab

Now - setting the hour "time-on moonlight" for example 22:00 - make that two hours will be enveloped in the darkness of the aquarium - after 22:00 will be moonlight on.

And that would be enough - if you have questions, please write ... Applying for future questions: - yes, there will be also a version for lamps 3 channel, of course, offering all that is possible to transfer - such as adequate plots of the spectrum (Spectrum Light Creator), the daily charts (for Basic Mode and the array PAR), etc.

And finally - Im sorry for my english.. Im still working on it

Regards

Important!
Please remember about short distance between lamp and computer during firmware upgrade procedure - and about using GOOD EXTERNAL USB Bluetooth module!

ps

i have been building a par table while in bali program and would like to "save to a file" in custom scenario tab, but that does nothing. does the program let you build a par table and save it somewhere so it can be imported later?

Hi,
You cant build PAR table when BALI program is installed in lamp memory.
Bali PAR program is little diffrent build than normal PAR table - it use external data sended by lamp - but also some procedures implemented into firmware(almost 590 data points for diffrent channels).
So - when you are preparing your own PAR scenario - after all(when its ready) - you have to install it to lamp memory.
During this process - lamp will validate your program.
After it will be succesfully installed - you can save it to file - it will be downloaded from lamp memory - and written to the file...
So - for this time when you preparing your own PAR program - Bali have to be uninstalled.

Hello,
For people who are not lucky enough to already own one, do you plan to release a video of a reef tank under the BALI par program, so we can see how the color of the coral looks like?

load/unload

hi,
something i probably didn t understand
i dont have actualyl bali program started
so i make my own par , send it to lamp and save it into a file ( it takes some seconds before it s exported then i can save it )
but i can t load it ( even at starting of the rogram with par table empty )
i can t also load the hawaii pss

so to resume
- loaded to temporary memory checkbox is always gray and checked ,
- bali is not enabled
- i can't load any .pss
- i can only make my own par , send it to lap and save it to a file

hwaii pss has different char encoding / lang ( french ,win7 64 bits )that s all i noticed
- here is the hawaii start of file
{\rtf1\ansi\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset238 Tahoma;}}
\viewkind4\uc1\pard\lang1045\b\f0\fs18

- and mine
{\rtf1\ansi\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Tahoma;}}
\viewkind4\uc1\pard\lang1036\b\f0\fs18

anyway great job

@fren
What its mean- you cant load it? Can you put your PAR scenario to any server - and give us link to it?
There cant be a problem with encoding - it have to work without matter how it is encoded..

Hello,
You have to perform some steps - before you will be able to load your scenario to lamp.
1. Be sure that Bali PAR is unmounted - click button Unmount Bali Program
2. Click Load PAR scenario from file
3. Click Send scenario to lamp memory.
Thats all. It have to work.
I have checked it - your PAR scenario looks like:

Inst true? :-)
Please remember - that progress bar will be active ONLY when you are sending scenario to lamp memory.

Light only shows blue screen and a little _ the left.
It is completely dead.
The answer is not the firmware upgrade when I press it.

i noticed two bugs:
1) moonlight will go on instant after sunset end even if i have choosed a later start concerning the moonlight..but after approx 5 minutes the moonlight shut down and will light up properly accoring to my moonlight start settings...thus the problem is that there is a short period of moonlight direct after sunset end even if you have choosen a alter moonlight start
2) still week tweak dose not work. whatever a choose to "back" the program, the colout temperature and intensity is not correct...it seem that it goes to some midday scheme, with to much light..

Hi,
You have erased memory in your lamp - and now you have to upload it again to memory - there is explained how (page3)
http://www.pacific-sun.eu/download/manual_8ch.pdf

Next time be sure that you are very close to the lamp - and please use external, good bluetooth module - in other way - you will get the same result - and memory erased(this was explained by us on RC

@jonasroman
moonlight:thanks for that information - we will check it.
week tweak - can you show your lamp settings(or send us your PAR table)? We have checked it several times.. Maybe you have other subprograms turned on(like accli or seasons simulations)?? Can you send us more information to work(at)pacific-sun.eu
Thanks!

Rgds

I have done the same and have been waiting for 2 hours it happens will have nothing and do not suggest that anything happens.
You can watch the first picture if I close the benefits of the button behind the lamp, moonlight lamp is not lit.
The picture 2-3-4 shows the lamp is open, the moonlight illuminated.

@minunatul
You dont have to wait one or two hours (when its calculating)- it will start uploading - or ne - if there is other problem... If your firmware is uploaded "partialy" - you can see similar effect like now - so software cant communicate with lamp - and there will be still information"
Firware image choosed CRC calculating.
Temporary memory preaparing...
"
You will can see that EVEN when you lamp will be completly off.. Its not mean that software is not working properly - its mean, that lamp memory is "empty" - and app cant start communicate..
We have produced more than 3.000 lamps with this model of transmition/firmware upgrade procedure - and please believe me - the problem is nout sourced by software..
If you are doing it(firmware upgrade) when your bluetooth signal is weak(due long distance or bad/to weak bluetooth module) - it will hapens EVERY time.
Software is the same for all customers - so - if one person with R2 unit can do a firmware upgrade - but second - cant do it - problem cant be placed inside software firmware... In fact - this procedure is very easy(from programmer point of view) - and there is no any mistake.
I asked you about your bluetooth module - but I didnt get reply..
If this procedure dont work - please contact with our workshop diretcly(not by RC forum - they are not support customers via private messages etc).
Please send your email to work(at)pacific-sun.eu - and you will get direct help.

Our workshop phone number is: +48 58 7145798 - since Monday to Friday(7:00am to 3:00pm our local time).
But the better idea will be contacting with your supplier - and before any next firmware upgrade - changing your hardware(bluetooth). It will save your time..

Best regards

Przemek
