Hello Jim,
We haven't tested the icecap ballast so we cannot confirm efficiency, efficacy, or PAR values. As long as the ballast runs the lamp at about 4amps and the ignitor has at least 4kV, it should run the lamp well enough. You'll have to confirm the specs with Icecap. The 10k lamp will give you the most PAR values of any color because the spectrum is more well balanced than the bluer 14k and 20k. You can go to ushioaquarium.com for more information or feel free to contact me directly. Sincerely, Craig Asato Product Manager email: [email protected] |

Jim,
I made an error. The correct amperage is 3.0 amps. Regards, Craig |

Best metal halide and t5 combo
Ive tried most 250 watt bulbs from sixty to way over one hundred a bulb, the best performance for my 75 gal. Was the ushio 10 k, t 5 actinic combo,on my aquatinics fixture awesome, most other could not replicate the extreme clarity of this bulb, I am waiting for my radium 250 14k,s to wear down, not even in the same league miss my ushio,s will go back, hope this was helpfully, happy reefing
