fragging duncan
hi i have a duncan coral it is not branching though. its got a small hard base that isnt much larger than half an inch long or wide but the polyps on this thing are HUGE. can i frag it like a xenia?
just cut flesh and attach it to a rock with a rubber band and a toothpick or something? This duncan doesnt have long branching stalks making it easy to cut. anyone have experience or know what kind of duncan im talking about? ive got a pic to post once lights are on >< thanks for the help. If I was you I wouldn't worry about fragging it yet. not until it has more of a hard skeleton to cut off and frag. But with a lps corral you would not want to cut the soft part of it like a soft coral. You would cut through the hard skeleton and reattach it on a plug and let it grow.

why do you want to frag it? That piece is still pretty small, I would wait till it gets larger.

The way i do it is with a sharp sterol pare of dykes. make a quick hard squeeze and it should just cut right through. with this method i have had a 95 percent survival rate when glues to a frag plug. hope this helps.

+1 Duncans will grow fast with spot feeding
+1 To small to frag Its fraggable dont get me wrong, but if something goes wrong you could easily lose the entire coral.. I would def let it get bigger. |
