va_blue_stang's New 29G Shallow Reef Tank

Ok here is just a little to get this build thread started. I built the tank myself, it was the first time I've attempted to build one so it's not completely factory looking. The stand I built out of aged red cedar that we keep in our wood working shop. I also built the light hood out of the same wood. It will be mounted shortly after the light goes off and cools. The tank is a 24 x 24 x 12 shallow acrylic tank with a 2 inch brace around the perimeter.

Go easy on us it's our first tank build from the ground up without buying a tank.

Thanks for looking and commenting, Mitch & Sherri

No need for a sump. The HOB's are running with Chaeto in one and live sand in both. Carbon is ran to polish the water on limited occasions. We decided the less equipment we ran the less likely for equipment failures.

I've never had any problems over the years with electronics and my saltwater tanks so far.
