How to catch my Clown fish

Its time to find a new home for my clown fish because he is mean and wont leave the other fish alone. I have spent hours trying to catch him with no success. Who knows how I can catch this jerk!

Does he sleep in the corner of the tank? try catching him when you turn the lights off, they get a bid disoriented.

Mine always comes out when food is out, try leaving the net in there then feeding, he gets very distracted, we have netted ours a couple times for various reasons with no issues.

^Ive got clowns that way before.

It took about halg an hour to catch my Six line Wrasse with a very simple bottle trap. I was shocked it worked. Leave a large opening because my fish was hesitant to go through the smaller hole that the bottle provided.

Here is a good read: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=372952

And I would suggest to not use a net, clownfish have good eyesight and can easily see a net.

My big problem is he hides behind the rocks the second I start trying to catch him. Last time I had to remove all my live rock to catch him. It takes me all day to get all the rocks back in a balanced without killing off all of my coral life. I would spear him if I could lol

If you had an anemone in the tank it would be easy. Put a net on each side of it & wait till it comes out.

Don't feed the tank for 24 to 48 hours and leave the net in the tank for several hours to get him use to it, then feed a little and see if he comes out.
I spent 2 hours once trying to catch a Cherub Angle, after the 1.5 hour mark, I was thinking of using the shop vac and suck the little *#@# out.... finally caught him after removing 80% of the rock!
Good luck!

I caught mine by letting them go to "sleep" about 2 hours after my lights went out they didn't know what hit them. Easy.

I had a bully blue yellowtail (1 outa 4), tried the trap, tried fishing with tiny hook, tried net with food, nothing worked.

had to do the rock remove and snag.

got him out finally with the food trick. I finally have a yellow and sailfin tang with two new baby clown fish to grow up together and not be jerks like my last one.
