New ESL Release

Tomorrow EcoTech Marine will debut the most significant update to EcoSmart Live since its preview in early Fall. Customer feedback has been instrumental and our top consideration. Thanks, in large part to all of you, we have greatly improved the simplicity and functionality of the ESL platform. Stability and user-friendliness was our primary objective for this launch and numerous bugs have been corrected. We are confident you will find this release to be the most useable and enjoyable LED lighting software yet.

Significant New Features Include:

• Single Schedule Programming - Artificial and Natural Mode are no longer simultaneously programmed to the Radion. Only one schedule is programmed to the Radion, but both artificial and natural are still available. This improves programming speed.

• Aquarium Setup Wizard – effortlessly takes you through the process of identifying and grouping Radion LED lights.

• New Pre-Programmed Lighting Schedules – Seven pre-programmed schedules including High Growth Schedule and Deep Color Schedule.

• Improved Schedule Creation - Improved tools to design and export your own custom schedules with other Radion owners. Share with friends.

• Lunar Cycle – A basic lunar cycle is now possible which will vary your moonlight schedule along the natural lunar cycle.

• Acclimation Mode - Acclimate your aquarium to your Radion lighting effortlessly over a set amount of time.

• Release Notes – located in the lower right corner of the ESL screen lets you know what's new.

I cannot emphasize enough how helpful your feedback has been since the ESL product preview went public. I want to personally thank you all for your effort and patience. As always, we are continuing to improve the platform and while we do so in some secrecy, we are painting a broader picture of the future made more clear as time goes on.

Awesome!

Is the acclimation mode just for new Radion users, or would it work for introducing new coral to the tank?

Do the pre-programmed schedules all work across all Radion platforms (G1, G2 and Pro) or are some programs platform specific?

Is this still considered a beta release?

Yes, public or beta? I'd love to be able to try it out.

Excellent , Got 6 new unit XR30w G2 and waiting to program them.

Are all mode can be downloaded into the unit and then selected each mode we like to run to (a,b,c) , Or we can download only single mode that we like to run to the unit...? (try to know if those unit able to store more than one program in the memory)

Thanks
Michael

Acclimation can be enabled at anytime and so can be used for adapting a tank to LED lighting or when you add a new coral.

All functions work across all Radion models; G1, G2, Pro. The pre-programmed settings do feature code for the added UV channel on the Pro model for when that model goes to market.

This will be a publicly available ESL release and ESL will remain in beta.

Only one mode is programmed to the Radions. You will not be able to select from different modes using the cap sense interface. To program new modes you'll need to use ESL.

This will be a publicly available ESL release and ESL will remain in beta.

Does this mean that it is available to all, but still has bugs to be worked out?

This release of ESL is a stable release and we are confident that you'll find it to be what you've been waiting for all along. That being said, ESL will remain in beta because we still wish to update it on the fly, adding features and improvements on a continuous basis as time goes on.

When ESL has reached a state of little change to the overall user experience, we'll remove the beta. Our team is deploying the new version as we speak however please give it some time today to become fully deployed and function properly.

Yes, I really like this version. The majority of the bugs seem to be worked out.

I keep hoping that one of these updates is going to allow the ESL connection manager to actually launch on my old Mac mini but alas not even this new version launches. The icon bounces for the manager and the dies, console reports Java errors but no joy. I've submitted feedback multiple times but never have gotten a reply…

Uninstall the old connection manager and reinstall again then reboot. Upon restart. Reset the wired radion to factory settings then try again. I had to do it to one of my radions who was not responding correctly.

We are happy to hear that many people are having success with the latest version of EcoSmart Live. For those of you who are experiencing problems, we are working right now to try to see what is going on. We recently found that there could be hardware conflicts with certain USB drivers and are trying to understand the issue. For those of you having problems, can you please reply to this and we will try to work with you individually to get the issues resolved.

10.6.8. It's an older mini I have hooked up to my TV and the only computer within 20ft cable length of my tank and that is the latest supported OSX version. I enabled Java etc. and still get a console error:

Did find: /Applications/EcoSmart Live Connection Manager.app/Contents/Resources/Java/libhidapi-jni.jnilib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
I wonder if it's the older Core Duo 32-bit only capability that is causing issues.

You are right. It is a 32 bit machine and we only ship a 64-bit compatible version with the installer. I appreciate you posting the error message. Let me see if I can get a 32 bit build for you. Stay tuned...
