Where in sump to dose vinegar?

Just started to auto dose vinegar and was wondering if there is a preferred place in the sump to dose, input, skimmer, or return section.

I've always used the return section for dosing anything.

I also dose my other stuff in the return, but thought I read somewhere to dose vinegar before the skimmer, but not sure.

I doubt that it matters much. I think it's more a matter of convenience than anything else.
