I asked him that same question last week and he told me they should have a working prototype in April. He didnt say when they would be available for order but it looks like it is getting close

I actually held off joining the group buy because i have a feeling these new fixtrues are going to blow away the current programmable ones

I would hate to order my leds and then regret it because the new ones are so much better

That's where I am on it.. Trying to decide if it's worth holding off on the group buy to see the new units.. I like the idea of cree vs bridgelux..

I'd really like to see what it looks like too. My issue with the photons is that they are kinda boxy and ugly.

If I like what I see, I want in on the first batch of these. The specs are doing it for me so far.

+1 for me too

I held off on the group buy because if it is all that he says on his site its worth waiting a month or two to upgrade my lighting

I hope two of the supernovas can cover my 180. He said that will be part of the initial testing. If one can cover 30" x 36" then im good with 2 of these

I was totally ready to drop 650 on a Radion until I read about this fixture. I'm holding off until this baby comes out. I just hope it's not too wide to fit on my 20" cube. I know he says it will be 24", but maybe I can squeeze it on there if I keep it low and modify some optics or something. This just sounds so sweet.

I was wondering if two SuperNovas would be overkill for my 120 Gallon 48 X 24 X 24 tank. I don't want any weak lighting spots in my tank.

You will have to wait and see, it is not released yet. From the sound of the specs though I don't think it will be overkill.

They will work great. We are working on a connection system and rolling sunset with multiple units.

Logan,
Is the supernova just going to be one size?
I was looking at two of your 16s for my 48" 120g

If you go to their website, it says it's supposed to cover a 36" x 30" area.. Fixture dimensions etc are on there too..

Any NEWs?? There website said that they would have a prototype of the SuperNova at REEF MAX 2013 which was the last few days. I went back on their site and they deleted the sentence of them saying that it would be there on their SuperNova page. I really would like to see photos and reviews otherwise im gonna have to buy a Radion for my Apex. Can't wait on this build forever.
