Just got my light this afternoon and ran in to the "How to Hang" conundrum. Hanging inside the canopy, the light was too low. Set on the included legs, the canopy couldn't fit. I decided to cut out parts of the top of the canopy corresponding to the placement of the lights and sit the fixture on top. I'm happy with it!

Corner braces?

Do you guys think the L shaped corner braces can be used to support the light?

It would work kinda like the shelf pin. Maybe 1 on each short side and 2 on each long side?

I have 2-16" Value fixtures and a 48" Photon. They are mounted on a shelf at a 20 degree angle facing the tank. I originally had them mounted directly above, but I noticed the corals were beginning to shadow themselves and bleach. When I moved the light in front of the coral I was able to light a larger portion, and the health of the coral greatly improved.

Ran some metal rod between floor joists above my basement's drop ceiling then measured and drilled a ceiling panel so that the cables come through. Looks nice and clean! This is above a 93g cube that's 24" tall. The lights currently come to about six inches above the rim of the tank.

Photon 48

For the photon 48, is it necessary to hang it from the 4 hanging points? or 2 sufficient?

Also, are those little nodes at the end of the wires that attach to the light secured enough? I feel they could snap off at any moment.

Photon 24 V2

Sorry for the bad quality. I cut a hole in the canopy, cut the legs that came with the unit and used a couple of straps just to make sure they are secured.

Cut out the hood and mounted so the fixture was flush to the top.
