Cool My Custom Sump!

Here are some pictures of my custom sump, built for me by Tyler and Elite Aquatics.
I am VERY happy with this sump, i drew what i wanted on a piece of paper and after speaking with Tyler for a few days we came up with this sump which works wonderfully. The fit and finish is second to none and i have had trigger systems and many other high end sumps. I chose the color, and the entire layout!

Take a look and let me know what you think!

Dimensions are 44 x 18 x 20

A little video I made of the sump!

Yes it is up and running for about two weeks now. Tank is fully cycled and all the water levels in the sump work perfectly!

Thanks, Tyler does great work!

I wanted either red or blue but that seemed to normal so I went with what the acrylic company calls fluorescent blue. It's bright blue from the side but just a light blue when you look through the chambers!

I just checked out his site and ill be ordering the 3 part reservoir. It'll save me space in the cabinet and look much cleaner than the gallon jugs.

He made me a custom one of those to match my sump. I'll post some pictures when I get home. Mine is a little taller then the one he usually makes. It matches my sump at 20 inches tall.

Tell him Matt sent you!!!

You have a really nice sump....great design and top quality workmanship.
It seems to me that your running it about an 1" to high based upon your overflow comb's in the refugium?

Damn you are observant lol. If you look at my float switch you can see the water is about an inch or so higher then it usually is. My salinity is a little low so I am topping off with saltwater manually for the time being so I keep it higher then it should be so that the ATO doesn't kick in!!!!

It looks like your SRO skimmer is running in some deep water, how deep is it? I have a 5000INT running in 7" and would like to get rid of the stand and run it in 9" but I am concerned with the skimmer being unstable

It's on a stand and is only about 7.5 inches of water

I saw in the picture the water level is almost to the top of where the horizontal water exit pipe and mine is just below the same pipe, could be the difference of models, I have the INT and you have the SSS ...nice sump

My favorite part of your sump is where the tank water enters the sump and the water goes through the baffle to the filter socks, that is a really good idea

The water level in the sump in the picture is also a little bit higher then where I usually run it.

Thanks! And yeah, I wanted the water to be FORCED to go through the filter socks and still make the socks VERY EASY to take out and clean, otherwise I would never do it and wind up running it without them! Lol
