BTA under T5 HO?

Could a BTA thrive under this light. It would be a 20 inch fixture, 4x 18w T5 HO. Tank is a 37 gal. column style. Would I be better off to go with MH, and if so , how much? Thanks.

18W T5 lamps offer very limited color options. your likely to not even like what you see under the included lamps given and won't be able to buy quality lamps like ATIs in that size.
for the same money or a little more I would think you may be better off with one of the Apollo LED type fixtures (or one of the fleabay knockoffs) which will save you from lamp replacements in the long run...

just a thought...GL

Appreciate the info. I was wonderng about the leds, having heard mixed reviews on them.
I'll do some research on the Apollo fixture.

MarineDepot carries 5 different Aquatic Life 18watt lamps and 2 Current USA 18 watt lamps. That is enough options to get the color that looks best to you. Since you are growing a BTA and not SPS I think those brands of lamps will be fine as long as you change them once a year.
