She's well over 230 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is 'America'... And I love her and I have always been proud of her.

Current Tank Info: 220 gal reef with 200+ gals of sump and refugium.

I am curious, you do not mention anything about dosing for calcium or alk. Do you depend on your water changes for this?

Beautiful tank! and I must say, your conclusion has made me realize I have been trying way too hard to have a perfect tank. On my old 75 gallon I was much more relaxed on testing. Just added the recommended amout of certain things such as carbon and GFO and trusted it and had great success. When I set up my 125 I decided to dive head first into trying to do everything "right" and by the books and it has almost become a chore.

Now thats not to say I will be slacking, but it may save me time and money in the future.

Two thumbs up!

Thank you once again for the recognition.

Water change schedule? I try and do a 35-40gallon water change every 2-3 weeks. Not as frequent as I would like, but I'm just busier than I was with the first article.
I use reef crystals as my salt mix.

I use an Aqua C RX-1 CA reactor and aquarium plants electronic regulator for my alk supplementation. It's briefly mentioned in the equipment callout box.

"If I could offer any advice, it would be to enjoy whatever you’re doing in the hobby. Concentrate on your own tank and not someone else’s online tank thread. I’ve felt that the hobby has been a chore at times and because of that, I gave up chasing numbers a few years ago. I no longer needed to have the “perfect” tank – just the one I can accept the results for the effort I put in."

Great goal for people to remember and great tank!

Lovely Tank Mark and informative write up.

As a newbie to salt water and one who plans on keeping Acrapora and Montipora varieties of coral in the future, what advice can you give to help me be more successful at keeping these coral healthy?
I understand I need to keep the parameters steady, but what about the truly needed equipment, food or anything else you have experienced?

Thank you in advance Mark,

Andrew

Tank Specs: 90 gal, Pacific Sun LEDs, skimmer, two circulating pumps, sump with sand/ Live rock, NO reacters.
