These dots don't drop off just seem to pimple under the skin and grow out. The fish swims fine and is as hungry as ever. Had the problem about 10 days so far. It appeared after a few weeks of hypo. An 8 min freshwater dip with Paraguard seemed to make no difference. I think I had the same thing on the yellow tang a few months ago but Paraguard freshwater dips made them drop off. He was left with white craters in his skin where they once were but those since slowly healed back to yellow.

Anyway wondering if is a virus, dosed cupramine 2 days ago but no change yet. All the fish are still very active and hungry.

All thoughts appreciated, Thanks.

Thanks but it's not like any ich I've had in the past. These are waxy looking nodules some several mm across and they never drop off like ich normally does before it returns, these simply grow larger creating craters in the fish. More recently it has caused a pronounced swelling band across the forehead.

If it is an ich derivative hopefully the cupramine will work but no decrease yet.

That is why I hate trying to diagnose using only pictures. Give me the history of the fish, where sourced from, and behavior of the fish.
