temp question

I there, my question is this, i have a mixed reef and i keep my home at 77 during day and 76 and night. i live in phoenix, but again my house stays at the above temp. However, I finally bought a digital temp gauge yesterday, and I noticed my water, at least in the overflow was at 81.3 F. Is that way to high, I've thought about putting a fan on my sump, if i do, should I aim the fan at the water or just blowing across the sump? My tank parameters are below.

It's on that cusp of being too high in IMO. So yes I'd use a fan to try and get the excess heat off of the sump to help keep the display cooler. Any thing we can do to cut the systems heat and maintain our goal temp that our corals love is idea.

My next stand I'm custom building and adding fans to pull air in to tha area. So yeah AZ is rough on systems so I'd definitely add the fan and float ice bottles.

At the water surface. It's a little on the high side but nothing to really be worried about. The only reason I would add the fan, maybe on the same timer as the lights, would be to keep it lower in case you have an air conditioning problem. It doesn't take much to get temps up in AZ, every degree counts when things don't go correctly.

85 is a good rule of thumb for when bad stuff starts to happen.

81-82 is perfectly fine, heck even 84 as 73-84 degrees is actually considered optimal temperature according to the NOAA.

BUT

Getting all the way up to 84 does not leave a lot of wiggle room if things go wrong as people have mentioned.

Filtration: 180lbs Live Rock, 240lbs live sand, 10lbs Rubble, Chaeto Ball. Current Tank Info: 160 gal mixed reef w/ a sump and refugium.
