Radical giant spearer set up
Here's my thought, basically it's having 2 small cubic aquariums with a pvc pipe going down and connecting one 2 the other creating a waterbridge between the two tanks which the pair of spearers will live in. Theory is then that this can be added to an existing system. Pretty bizarre design but what do we think? As long as the parameters would remain stable and an appropriate burrow supplied, the animals would presumably be content, a larger length burrow could be provided for a much lower water volume.

basically one tank would be the main display, have an overflow, which will overflow water into the sump (tank2) and the sump will have a return pump back into the main display, with both environments suitable for L.Maculata?
From what I read, you wanted to try a side by side system, which won't work as the water pressure would be wonky or one system would be unfiltered and circulated properly. You're pretty much doing a display+refugium system with a refugium of equal size.

It would all be the same system and into both sides there'd be an input and an overflow
