ATS test. 1 side CF 100 vs 24 W red/b LED

both sides until today have been running CF comparative 100w mini bulbs. Today i received my 24w led. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...ilpage_o00_s00

Here is the setup. i will try to remember to do an update every week on fridays.

May the battle to grow algae begin.

this did not work. not sure if it was the black screen or what but all my algae lifted from every surface and entered the water column. will figure a new method soon. i dont like this giant contraption over my sump anyway.

You need to rough up the screen, that will hold the growth to the screen

We use a saw blade and drag it across a few times to roughen the surface of the screen.

Your 24W light should be enough. Don't waist any time using the 100W bulb.

Its worth having it over the sump instead of having GHA in your tank
