My wife is the best

I've wanted a reef tank since about 7th grade. It's always been a dream that I thought was just out of reach because of moving or cost or life getting in the way, but I still talked about my love of marine life and such with my wife.

Well this Christmas she surprised me with an IM nuvo 20 for my desk. I work at home so it's a perfect size. And she told me she wanted me to do whatever I needed to do to make it happen.

Well she one upped herself again and surprised me with a trip to Tampa on Saturday to pick up part one of my package. She apparently collided with Richard to have it ready and waiting for me to pick up when we got there.

I got home and put it all in as instructed. It was incredibly well packaged and included so much life. It even had a fish! I think it's a seaweed blenny. My wife and I both were stuck staring at the tank pointing out new things for hours. I absolutely cannot wait for part 2.

Thank you for sneaking around behind my back! Lol

Anything special to do to care for this little blenny? Any ideas on good foods for him?

Thanks for the advice!

This little guy really doesn't stop moving. I can see what they say about them having a fun personality.

We picked up part 2 Saturday. (Thanks again, Richard! Really nice to meet you!) I was so blown away by what was included. We got hermits, snails, two different decorator crabs, an anemone, a royal gramma, and all the fun fans and sponges. It was crazy! I can't believe how amazing my tank looks when it's basically a week old. Check this out!

So our peppermint shrimp, which I forgot to mention, just got chased by the blenny we got in part 1. She ran up to the top of the tank, splashed some water, and apparently gave birth at the same time. Tons of little tiny shrimp babies flew all around the tank. The gramma was pretty happy about it and feasted for a while.

It really is a little piece of the ocean at home.
