Tunze Stream Recommendation for a 150g Tank

I purchased two 6095's for a 75g build I was planning and ended up selling the tank before I ever set it up. I am now thinking of stepping up to a 150g (60x24x24) and wondering if I can use the 6095's on this new setup being that it's a foot longer. It will be a mixed reef with some sps. Plan was to place the Streams at each end of the tank. Any ideas if the extra foot of tank length will matter?

I'm sure they'll get the ball rolling for you, but I bet you'll want more flow as time goes on. The good news is that Tunze pumps can be found at fairly reasonable prices.

It really depends what you plan to keep, for all SPS I think you will need more and 2 6105 would be the ideal but 3-4 6095's would suffice. If it is a mixed reef or focused on LPS, softies or zoos, the 6095's are likely plenty and you can work with placement to get the corals the flow they need.

I have two 6095 0n a 90 gallon sps 36 inch tank and a 6040 to keep the bottom clean, with this set up there are not many dead spots.

I'm thinking that it makes more sense to step up to the 6105's and dial them back if need be then to need more flow than a pair of 6095's can provide and have to add more powerheads. I would prefer to keep the number of powerheads to a minimum.

There are pros and cons to consider each way. Redundancy is nice as one power head out of commission is less problematic while it is serviced or repaired. On the other hand, too much equipment can distract from the aesthetics. The 6105 is bigger than a 6095, outside of the cords and mounting magnets, real estate wise, 2 6095's and a 2 6040's takes up about the same space and has the same power consumption as 2 6105's and in some cases this might let you better target flow. With that said, if it was my tank, I would probably also lean to 2 6105's.
