My system crashed and I need to reprogram.
Pls advise:
1. Where can I go to see good programming examples 2. What equipment is best to connect to the relay switching sockets 4& 8 on the EB8s from the following items (DT main DC pumps total of four // Skimmer pump // skimmer air pump// lights Razor// heaters 88 and 500w// MP60 pumps// Gure 280 pumps 3. What command should I use to avoid burning power supply in case of a quick off/on caused by power failure... I do have a generator that takes over ... few days back I lost 2 maybe 3 power supplies shorted out on me when power went off and back on within seconds and my generator tried to kick in as well 4. Future more questions to come and I hope you bear with me THANKS

1. Well... Reeftronics used to offer insights into others' programming, but it was up to you to know if they were "good" examples or not! Regardless, Reeftronics is no more (thanks, tho Russ) so your best bet is to ask questions here and on the forum on Neptune's website.
2. 4 and 8 on the EB8 is either best for very high amperage/power devices or very low amperage/power devices. Amp ratings of 1-3 and 5-7 are 5A, while the 4 & 8 ratings are 10A. On the flip side, 4 & 8 are the only outlets that can reliably switch devices less than 5W or so. So looks like your 500W heater is borderline wanting to be on 4 & 8, and I'm guessing your air pump draws very low power so that might want to be on one... but I'd question whether or not you need your skimmer air pump controlled by the Apex. 3. No commands are going to fix issues with the supply side power, so I'd plug the Apex/EB into a UPS - that will act as a filter of sorts, and allow you to avoid any voltage glitches until the generator kicks in. 4. Can't advise until the future questions come... |

Thanks Kurt... Not sure why you could not foresee my fourth question and answer it ahead of all others.. Appreciate the input. OK: say I want lights to go on between times 7am to 9pm for example but If power goes off I need them to stay off for five minutes before going on. A simple program but am not sure of the order of the programming lines and the osc command .. I want to add an osc command to keep lights off for few minutes if power outage, where do I place the command to stay off for five minutes in the following scenario etc...
Fallback OFF Set OFF If Time 07:00 to 21:00 Then ON If Temp > 81.0 Then OFF

I'm not an expert, so please test this to make sure it works the way you want.
Add this line to your programming, substituting your EB8 number for the X If Power EB8_X OFF 005 Then OFF That tells the Apex that if the power to EB8_X is off, then once it comes back on, it is to keep that outlet OFF for 5 minutes. EDIT -> Sorry, I just realized that this thread is a few weeks old. Last edited by Spyderturbo007; 07/26/2017 at 07:12 AM. |
