Exclamation Tunze osmolator nano 3152 issues

Hello there,
I have been having issues with my osmolator nano. On occasion it has been filling my tank way past the float valve, where other times it works fine. I did take out the float valve this past weekend and cleaned it and everything.

This morning when I got it it dumped about 2 gallons into my nano and was well above the float valve. The pump was making a clicking as well.

Any help is appreciated.
Ross

I can think of a few possibilities:

1) Magnet holder or another magnet is pinning the float. If the glass is very thin, like 1/8", then a shim between the outer magnet and glass will solve it. The magnetic field of the holder is not cancelled and is pinning the float which is a magnetic switch.

2) A siphon, if the reservoir is above or besides the tank and this only happens when the reservoir is full, a siphon is the most likely cause.

3) Something is wrong with the controller or float.

I lean towards 1 or 3 as the clicking means the timer is what stopped the fill.

Thanks for the reply. I have an Innovative Marine 25 Lagoon tank. I think the glass i 8mm if I am not mistaken, but I can check.

The reservoir is under my tank.

Is it worth it to try out the shim? My salinity dropped over 3 points this morning. Thanks.

I verified it is 8mm which is about 3/8" so no shim is needed. Did it always do this or how long has it been set up.

I purchased it July last year. It has not always done this, and has been happening the past few weeks. Thanks for the speedy responses.
